'Funds and schemes for differently abled will reach on time'

Imphal, June 24 2017:
"The various funds and schemes allocated for differently-abled people under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India will be utilised and given at the right time with appropriate proposals," said Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen .
This was stated today at the 6th Unau Meet �cum- Inauguration of Malsawm Skill Development and Vocational Rehabilitation Unit (MSDVRU) held at Malsawm Ability Resource Centre (MARC), Pearsonmun, Churachandpur .
Addressing the gatherings as the chief guest, Nemcha Kipgen stated that for the mobility and independent functioning of the differently-abled persons, special attentions are necessary in their day to day life and assured every possible assistance from her end for this matter .
She lauded the Centre for Community Initiative for functioning effectively and taking up noble projects for the welfare and development of the differently-abled groups without any Government funding .
She also urged the organization to draft a proposal titled 'funds for disability' to make sure they get all the necessary funds and schemes for further development of the centre .
"I'll be sending my engineers for evaluation on either Monday or Tuesday so that I can take the proposals with me when I visit New Delhi in the next couple of weeks,' she told the gathering .
As a token of gratitude and appreciation, Nemcha also handed a monetary assistance of Rs 20,000 to the organization .
While delivering the presidential speech, Agriculture Minister V Hangkhanlian announced that he will sanction Rs 10 lakh in the near future from his MLA Local Area Fund and also assured a financial assistance of Rs 33,000 for the 33 differently-abled children of the organization .
He called upon the need to nurture the differently-abled groups with love and care and the need to find out their hidden talents and to lead them to the right path .
He expressed gratitude to the team for their commendable initiative and expressed his desire to assist the special school and its students in any possible way as he was deeply moved by their performances.
DC, Churachandpur Shyam Lal Poonia, SP, Churachandpur Rakesh Balwal and many ADC Members attended the event .
The Malsawm Initiatives (TMI) might become a full fledged school for persons with disabilities if the plans listed by Social Welfare Minister while inaugurating the Malsawm Skill Development and Vocational Rehabilitation Unit (MSDVRU) takes shape .
The Skill Development and Rehabilitation centre was designed to assist the special needs students who graduate from TMI after attaining 14 years.
It was a part of the long dream package of the school that could take shape only now with the school authorities claiming they have plans to expand the trade from the existing handloom/weaving, computer, and fast food/cafeteria facilities .
The Executive Director of CCI, the NGO that looks after TMI also presented a dream architectural outlay of the campus before the guests .
Nemcha Kipgen also presented the Ginmalzawm Memorial Award for persons with disability to a student who cleared the HSLC exams in flying colours .
