Imphal, April 23 2018:
North-East Forum for International Solidarity (NEFIS) criticizes the recent decision of the Tripura BJP government to convert Pushpavant Palace which served as Raj Bhawan into a museum and research centre dedicated to Rabindranath Tagore.
The move has upset people across the state which is widely being seen as an example to eschew the upliftment of the deprived people in the state with such moves.
It is noteworthy that the BJP made big promises during elections to bring in policies aimed at uplifting the indigenous people.
However, no such policy has been forthcoming.
Instead, such controversial decisions are being taken without any consultation with the people.
NEFIS criticizes the move of the BJP Govt and demands that the decision should be immediately taken back.
Also, any such decision should be taken only after large-scale consultation with the people of the state.
