Imphal, January 18 2017:
The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has initiated due procedures to take up necessary action against retail outlets (ROs) which have not been properly distributing petrol and diesel to public when the whole State is reeling under acute shortage of petroleum products on account of the UNC's indefinite economic blockade.
Befitting action would be taken up against the defaulting ROs marketing discipline guidelines.
IOC officials may visit ROs any time without giving any prior information when they (ROs) are distributing fuel.
IOC can take up disciplinary action if any RO is found not distributing fuel to the public to the full quantity allocated to it and if the qualities of the fuel are found compromised, informed a source.
Meanwhile, many quarters have raised a common question whether fuel allocated to ROs by IOC are not distributed properly to public when the whole State is reeling under acute shortage of petroleum products due to the UNC's indefinite economic blockade.
Even as an RO located in Imphal East district was allocated 12 Kls of diesel and the fuel was distributed to public last Tuesday, greater portion of the allocated quantity was not distributed, some people told The Sangai Express.
