Imphal, July 13, 2013:
The 21st day of sit-in-demonstration against the Government of Manipur's decision to take over the Royal Palace for renovation works and maintain the location as historical site was participated by members/volunteers of Langol Ningthou Thougal Lup.
Speaking to newspersons at the protest venue today, Lup secretary Ch Onin Meetei appealed to the Government to withdraw its decision of relocating residence of the titular king to initiate repairing/renovation works.
He cautioned that any intention to use force for executing the State Cabinet decision will backfire and have far-reaching consequences.
On the otherhand a woman protestor regretted that yaiskul AC MLA has not yet enquired about the prevailing tense environment engulfing the Royal Palace or about the plight of the royal family.
Noting that the MLA had sought the blessing of the titular king at the time of contesting election, the woman said inspite of restrained by Government compulsion the MLA should atleast pay a visit in his individual capacity.
