Govt seeks time on MLA's proposal

The ruling party sought some more time to deliberate on a proposal by the Nationalist Congress Party legislator L ibomcha that candidates concerned be provided a carbon copy each of the answer scripts for all written tests conducted for recruitment as well as entrance examinations.
The MLA made the proposal as a private member's resolution on the last day of the assembly session today.
He observed that in case carbon copies for all examinations or tests could be ensured to the candidates complaints of irregularities against the examination conductors as well as charges of misconduct against the officials could be effectively dealt with.
Replying to the MLA's proposal that the house discuss and pass a resolution on the same, Chief Minister O ibobi Singh stated that the issue merits debate by the house members.
The Leader of the House was however of the view that as feasibility on implementing the proposal need further deliberation by the Law Department, Department of Personnel and related departments some more time would be needed before arriving at a conclusion.
Thus the House abstained from passing the private member resolution.
