Earlier, the MSSA announced that they would undertake mass casual leave on April 13 which would be followed by a series of agitation.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary told the MSSA team that the works being done by the fitment committee with regard to implementation of the 7th Pay would be completed within the next 5/6 days and a report would be submitted to the Chief Minister.
Notably, the Chief Secretary is the chairman of the fitment committee.
The Government would study the State's financial resources as well as the extra expenditure that would be incurred as and when the 7th Pay is implemented, conveyed a source while quoting the Chief Secretary.
Highlighting all these pending works, the Chief Secretary sought 10 days' time.
Responding to the Chief Secretary's appeal for 10 days, the MSSA team offered 20 days and urged the Chief Secretary to issue an order for implementation of the 7th Pay by April 30 without fail.

Even though the proposed agitation stands suspended for the time being, a series of agitation would be launched if the Government fails to fulfil its assurance within the given deadline, added the source.
On the other hand the cease work strike launched by the Joint Administrative Council of AMTUC and AMGEO continues.
The ceasework strike was launched from March 22 .
Intensifying its stir, employees of SCERT and the State Academy had locked their offices and sat in front of their office gates thereby severely affecting the normal functioning of the two offices yesterday.
