Convention on NEP

A State level mega convention on National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, will be held on March 11 at City Convention Centre, Palace Compound, Imphal.
The decision of organising the convention was taken during the review meeting of the State Task Force on National Education Policy held at the SSA office, Babupara.
During the meeting chaired by Education Minister S Rajen Singh, modalities of the upcoming convention was minutely discussed.
The convention will continue for two days.
There will also be technical sessions including interaction with various resource persons.
In the convention which will be inaugurated by Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Ministers, MLAs, representatives of different organisations, teaching faculties, experts and top officials of Education Department will also be present.
Rajen said that organising such a convention is very necessary in order to give awareness on the National Education Policy, NEP.
Local leaders and the public seem to be lacking knowledge about the contents of the NEP.
He maintained that a collective effort of the experts and officials of the Department concerned is very necessary for successful implementation of the policy.
He appealed to all concerned to cooperate with the Government on such initiatives.
Rajen also highlighted the achievements of the School Fagathanshi Mission.
Enrolment of students in Government schools has increased immensely during the last few years, he said and appealed to the teachers to focus on bringing quality education in the State.
Top officials of Education Department, Task Force members, Professors and other experts were also present.
