Imphal, March 30 2010:
A gang of three unknown men allegedly kidnapped a 20 year-old girl from her village on Monday night and left her in a forest nearby with several injury marks of beating up.
It is suspected that she was gang raped.
She has been admittted to RIMS hospital today.
Necessary medical examination for possible rape was reportedly conducted at the forensic department as she narrated how she was left in unconscious state in a forest area at Khonghampat on the side of the NH-39 under Sekmai police station of Imphal west district last night by the abductors.
Police did not register any case with regard to the incident on the request of the family.
Reports said that the girl was kidnapped by some unknown youths from Motbung, her native village yesterday evening at about 5 pm.
The youths entered the house of the chawkidar of the forest beat office near the foothill with various injury marks on her face and hands in the wee hour of today, at about 2 am.
Sekmai police who were informed by the locals brought her up to the RIMS hospital for treatment.
Doctors stitched two times at the cut at her lip.
She also received injury at her right cheek.
As related by the victim girl, she kidnapped by three unknown persons in a white maruti car.
In the vehicle, she forced to consume to a tablet later which she fell unconscious.
When she came to sense she was found at the forest area where she alone struggled to reach the quarter of the chawkidar in the wee hour today.
After conducting medical check up at the RIMS forensic department to confirm any incident of rape on her, police handed over the girl to the family who decided not to lodge formal complaint to the police and requesting the police not to register case with regard to the incident.
