Martyrs' Day observed :: NSU site row to be resolved via dialogue: CM

The imbroglio over the ownership of the National Sports University site at Haraothel will be resolved with proper dialogue, said Chief Minister N Biren Singh today.
He was speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the Martyrs' Day observance held at Gandhi Memorial Hall Imphal in the presence of Governor Najma Heptulla.
He told media persons that the disruption being caused by the row over land ownership is unfortunate.
There were no issues regarding the site when matters related to the site were finalised in 2016.The row that has emerged recently is unfortunate.
Resolving the issue may take some time but all efforts will be made to resolve it as soon as possible, he said, asking for public cooperation.
Responding to a question regarding journalists' pension scheme by reporters, N Biren said the decision to relax the eligibility criteria for availing pension from 45 to 65 years was taken as a one time measure for welfare of the journalists.
The Martyrs' Day observance was also attended by Deputy Chief Minister Y Joykumar, Works Minister Th Biswajit, Education Minister S Raj en, MAHUD Minister O Henry, Tourism Minister O Lukhoi, CAPF&PD Minister Thokchom Satyabrata, Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar, DGP LM Khaute and other high ranking Government officials.
The dignitaries and all present observed a 2-minute silence as a mark of respect to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the Nation.
