Nagaland Govt welcomes Naga Concordant

The Government of Nagaland while welcoming the signing of 'Naga Concordant' by three Naga underground organisations recently, terms the event as 'historic and significant step' .
The three Naga underground groups � NSCN-IM, NNC and NSCN-Khole/Kitovi have agreed upon in 'principle' on August 26 in Dimapur to work towards in the formation of their single government.
On that day, the top leaders of the three Naga outfits signed a 'concordant' to work towards the formation of the single underground Government which has been proposed to call "Naga National Government" .
On Monday, chairman of Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of the Nagaland Government Dr TM Lotha and Member Secretary Z Lohe informed that the PAC has welcomed the meetings of the top underground leaders which have resulted in the signing of the 'Naga Concordant' which states that "having reconciled on the basis of historical and political rights, the Naga leaders have agreed that Nagas are one and the signatories have resolved to work towards formation of one Naga national government." The Government of Nagaland observed that it was a historic and significant step taken by underground leaders towards oneness and unity of Naga society and appreciated the significant steps taken by the signatories in the greater interest of Nag a society.
The PAC while appreciating the efforts of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR), called upon all sections of the people including both the undergrounds and the overground leaders to also come forward and participate in the process of reconciliation, unity and oneness of Naga society so that the reconciliation and unity process becomes all inclusive.
The PAC felt that there is a need to convene the 'joint parliamentary forum on Naga political issue' so that collectively, the sixty members of the house including opposition and ruling benches can jointly take part in facilitating the on-going unity and reconciliation process.
The PAC reiterated the stand of the State government would pave way for any alternative arrangement that may emerge through an honorable solution of Naga political issue.
