An RMSA teacher posted at Ithai Khunou Government High School in Bishnupur district has been found absent for six consecutive months.
The matter came to light during an inspection drive conducted by Manipuri Student's Federation (MSF) at the School today.
MSF Vice-President Kh Sirajuddin said that Konsam Sunita of Ningthoukhong Potshangbam was given her posting at the school after she was appointed as Arts Graduate teacher for MIL subject under RMSA.
However, she was transferred to Ningthoukhong Kha High School in February this year.
As there was inadequacy of teacher at Ithai Khunou Government High School, people of the area initiated an agitation against the transfer order, he added.
Bowing down to the intense pressure of the locals, Education Minister M Okendro revoked the transfer order on March 21 this year and directed Sunita to be posted at Ithai Govt High School.
However, she never attended the school since past six months although the school, which has around 550 students, is facing the problem of teachers' inadequacy, Sirajuddin said.
Sirajjudin further said that Bishnupur ZEO Kh Yaima gave leave to Sunita for 26 days from May 6 to 31 on medical ground.
Alleging the leave given to Sunita was nothing but an effort to cover up the issue, Sirajjudin questioned how the teacher was initially given transfer although there was a guideline which forbade transfer of teacher within three years of their appointment.
The Vice-President added that it has also become questionable whether Sunita is superior to Education Minister M Okendro as no action has been taken against her although she did not bother to comply with the transfer revocation order of the Minister.
Questioning how quality education can be brought if no action is initiated against such arrogant teachers, Sirajjudin warned the teacher that she must be responsible if the students of Ithai Government High School fail in MIL subject in HSLC examination 2014 .
