In view of the withdrawal of blockades and counter-blockades coupled with arrival of fresh stock of foodgrains from Jiribam to Imphal, the restriction imposed by the State Government on issue of foodgrains and sugar in the State has been lifted with immediate effect.
However, issue of PDS items shall continue to be restricted to the quantities received/lifted by the Department of CAF&PD from FCI and limited to the months for which lifting has been completed in this regard, mentioned an order issued by CAF&PD Under Secretary N Pratap.
Indents from districts will be given priority for release of PDS items as per their allocated quantities, it added.
Meanwhile, CAF&PD Commissioner P Vaiphei has instructed Deputy Commissioners of all districts as well as ADCs of Jiribam, Kangpokpi and Moreh to place indents and make payment through Treasury challan immediately for lifting Sugar from Sangaiprou godown and further disbursal to the general public.
As per an official intimation, sugar allocation for each district/sub-division is 178 quintals for Churachandpur, 53 quintals for Chandel, 42 quintals for Tengnoupal, 128 quintals for Senapati, 64 quintals for Saikul, 34 quintals for Saitu, 66 quintals for Kangpokpi, 102 quintals for Ukhrul, 89 quintals for Tamenglong, 292 quintals for Thoubal, 159 quintals for Bishnupur, 289 quintals for Imphal East, 356 quintals for Imphal West, 28 quintals for Jiribam and 120 quintals for RH agents.
It further asked the DC's and ADC's for make arrangements for proper distribution of the sugar.
