Senapati district to become State capital of indigenous wrestling: CM N Biren Singh

Senapati, November 26 2022:
Senapati district will be made the indigenous wrestling capital of Manipur, said Chief Minister N Biren Singh today.
He was speaking at valedictory function of the Indigenous Wrestling competition which was held as a part of the Manipur Sangai Festival 2022 at Mini Stadium, Senapati.
As the chief guest of the event, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said Senapati district will soon become the second largest district in Manipur in terms of sports infrastructure.
With as many as four stadiums coming up in Senapati, the district will soon become an important venue for sports next to Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
He continued that future wrestling events may be held in the district and make it the wrestling capital of the State.
He said his Government has brought many positive changes in the State with policies and missions like the Go to Hills, Go to Village and Chief Ministergi Hakshelgi Tengbang.
The missions were introduced with the aim to reach people at their doorsteps.
Underserved people are now able to avail -free health services under several health schemes, he said urging for people's support and co-operation with the Government.
In today's wrestling competition of above 65 Kg category, Ningthoujam Sheetal Singh bagged the first position, Rakhovei Liimai and L Moses bagged 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
In the below 65 Kg category, Apao Tho bagged gold while M Dai Zho and SK Veilou bagged silver and bronze respectively.
Titular king and MP Leishemba Sanajaoba, MP Outer Parliament, Khashim Vashum, Veterinary Minister L Susindro Meitei and PHE Minister J Kumo Sha among others attended the event.
