Imphal, August 26 2020:
Manipur Government Services' Federation (MGSF) has yet again written to the Chief Secretary demanding full implementation of the recommendations of 7th Pay Commission as per the agreement signed on June 8, 2018 and settlement of other related issues.
MGSF, in a statement said that the federation along with Manipur Secretariat Services Association (MSSA) and Manipur Pensioners' Union, have been demanding the Government for enhancement of DA rate from the current 3% to 17% at par with the Central Government employees.
As per the MOU signed on June 8, 2018 with the representatives of the federation, other associations and the Chief Secretary, full implementation of 7th Pay had to be started from April 1, 2020 onwards with adoption of the full allowance structure of the Central Government employees, it said.
However, against the demand of the employees, the Government had released only 4% DA in line with the order issued on August 21, 2020 thereby leaving a backlog of 10 % DA which is unprecedented, it said.
MGSF therefore, urged the Government to respect the MOU signed earlier and enhance the DA rate as justly demanded by the employees and the pensioners, it added.
Listing a series of demands and unsettled issues in the letter to the Chief Secretary, the MGSF requested the Government to settle the demands by end of August, 2020 .
The federation also warned off a full measure cease work strike if their demands are not addressed within the said deadline.
In the meantime, Federation of Government College Teachers' Association, Manipur (FEGOCTA) too demanded orders for implementation of 7th UGC Pay and Regulations, 2018 .
The association stated that Government college teachers will take up online classes and other academic activities only after resolving the issues of the employees including DA and implementation of 7th UGC Pay and Regulations, 2018.It is the collective decision of FEGOCTA, MGSF, MSSA and other employees' associations, it said.
FEGOCTA stated that the association will organise a series of discussions on 'National Educational Policy, 2020 and Manipur' after submission of suggestions and feedbacks to MHRD.
The recommendations of the discussions will be submitted to the Government of India and Manipur, it added.
