Dimapur, October 24 2015 :
The Sumi Hoho (SH) had re-affirmed the stand at the Sumi Baghi Hoho (general public meeting) on August 23,2015, that the Sumi people were neither in favour or against the Peace Accord signed between Government of India and NSCN (I-M) "until such time the contents of the Accord is made known to the public" .
SH stated this in a joint statement issued by its president Toniho Yepthomi and general secretary Vihuto Asumi.
SH said it was constrained to issue the state- ment, to clear the air of confusion arising out of press statements from self vested interested individuals and organisations who expressed endorsement of Peace Accord (framework agreement) .
It reminded that the Sumi Baghi Hoho on September 3, 2015 resolved to revoke the abrogation of relationship imposed upon the NSCN(I-M).
Sumi Hoho reaffirmed that revocation of abrogation of relationship did not necessarily mean support to the Accord until and unless " all the Nagaland Political Groups and stake holders, inclusively participate and involve in Naga peace talk" .
Further, it said the Sumi Baghi Hoho also affirmed, that on issues pertaining to Sumi people as a whole, "except the Sumi Hoho, no other organisation or individual shall issue press statement" .
SH said the resolutions adopted by the Sumi Baghi Hoho remained effective and in place in all Sumi inhabited areas, irrespective of geographical locations.
Therefore, such statements issued by 'others' are not the opinion of the Sumi people and has nothing to do with the Sumi people," it said.
