Imphal, August 24 2016:
The All Manipur DPC Completed Candidates of Police Constable (Male) 2013 while calling off the indefinite bandh they imposed since last midnight has decided to seal all Government offices from August 26 .
The indefinite bandh has been called off in view of the adverse impacts it would create among the people particularly daily wage earners and students.
In the course of the bandh, around 50 members of the association have been arrested by police while many others sustained injuries, said a press release issued by the All Manipur DPC Completed Candidates of Police Constable (Male) 2013 .
All Government offices would be sealed from August 26 with the exception of offices related to education and medical services.
However, the economic blockade which has been imposed since August 16 will go on.
In case the Government does not revoke the order which cancelled the completed DPC and declare results of the viva voce which was participated by 10,287 candidates even after the ongoing agitation, the candidates would court mass arrest, it informed.
It further clarified that there was no case of offending/assaulting media persons in the course of the bandh.
Yet, some altercations took place between a newspaper hawker and bandh supporters at Monshangei this morning when the hawker asked the bandh to remove the timbers and bamboos put across the road.
