Imphal, May 24 2016:
The JCILPS has stated that the ongoing agitation of targeting offices of political parties would go on and similar agitation targeting offices of the State Government and the Central Government would be launched shortly.
Speaking to media persons at their Sega Road office this evening, JCILPS convenor Khomdram Ratan said that the ongoing mass movement is something demanded by the unfolding political scenario.
Abortion or termination of the ongoing mass movement for protection of indigenous people may put all the indigenous people on the path of total extinction.
Even though the situation is highly critical, the State Government and all the political parties have been undermining the issue and such lackadaisical attitude has only stiffened JCILPS' determination to carry on the mass movement relentlessly, Ratan said.
Apart from targeting offices of political parties, people would now start gheraoing residences of Ministers and MLAs.
JCILPS is also prepared to storm offices of the State Government as well as the Central Government.
The State Government is yet to initiative a single step towards establishment of Population Commission, Land Reforms Commission and detection and deportation of foreigners.
All political parties including Congress and BJP have their eyes focused on the IMC election rather than sharing any concern about the ILPS issue.
The all party delegation led by the Chief Minister has shown little enthusiasm to go to New Delhi and urge the Central Government to approve the three Bills passed by the Manipur Legislative Assembly.
Accusing the State police of committing excesses against students and women activists who protested in front of BJP office today, the JCILPS convenor maintained that police personnel and their families stand to benefit from the mass movement just like all indigenous people of the land.
They (police) should not think that the ongoing movement can be suppressed by arresting two students (Bruce and Bidyalaxmi) .
Saying that they have come across some people making misleading and provocative comments on social media about JCILPS and the ongoing mass movement, Ratan clarified that the JCILPS is not spearheading any movement to throw out outsiders from Manipur.
He then appealed to all the people not to misinterpret JCILPS and its activities.
Any further attempt to project the ongoing movement in the wrong light would be assumed as anti-people, he added.
