Drive against Talab by Zeliangrong Students

All Zeliangrong Students' Union (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland), Zeliangrong Students' Union, Manipur and Zeliangrong Students; Union, Tamenglong district have called upon the general public residing in and around Tamenglong district to co-operation in the proposed drive of the student bodies against sale and supply of Talab (Gutkha) .
A joint meeting of the student bodies held at Tamenglong district headquarters on August 5 resolved to put a ban on selling and supply of Gutkha (Talab) in and around Tamenglong district, president of All Zeliangrong Students' Union (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) Pamei Tingenlung informed in a statement.
Directing all the pan shops and vendors to stop selling Gutkha before September 5, the statement warned that any shop which was found selling Talab or any vehicle caught carrying the banned item would face an imposition of fine upto Rs 10,000 for the first act of defiance and Rs 10,000 plus closure of the shops or restricting the vehicle service for the subsequent act of defiance.
The Union has also directed all its sub-ordinate units to keep strict vigil in their respective areas.
