Rescued children at safe Home : Social Welfare Director

All the children, including 21 from the State, who were rescued from the clutches of traffickers in Rajasthan on March 12 last are at a safe Home in Rajasthan.
At the same time, the State Government has informed its Resident Commissioner at New Delhi to ascertain the well being of the rescued children who are still at a Home in Rajasthan.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, Director of Social Welfare Department, Th Chitra Devi confided that all the rescued children from the State in Jaipur are accommodated at a State run Children Home in Rajasthan under the auspices of State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Rajasthan and Child Welfare Committee, Jaipur.
Besides, the rescued children were provided proper counselling by FXB-Suraksha, the Director of Social Welfare Department said.
Pointing out that the children are in a safe Home, the Director further urged all family members concerned and public not to be overwhelmed with fear and anxiety.
With official inputs from CWC Jaipur and SCPCR, Rajasthan, it has been established that 21 of the rescued children are from the State, Chitra informed.
The children are at the age group of 5 to 13 years though the details of their addresses are not corresponded officially.
Meanwhile, a meeting was held today at the Chamber of the Commissioner of Social Welfare dept which was attended by the Commissioner and Director of Social Welfare and members of Child Welfare Committee, Ukhrul.
Out of the 21 children, members of CWC, Ukhrul have identified 17 of them to belong to Ukhrul district while the address of the remaining four children could not be established immediately.
The DC of Ukhrul has also been intimated to submit a report to the Social Welfare dept about the particulars of the 17 children after officially confirming their addresses.
At the same time, the Resident Commissioner of Manipur at New Delhi has also been informed to ensure the wellbeing of the children who are presently put up at a Home in Rajasthan.
The State Social Welfare department has been closely coordinating with the SCPCR Rajasthan and CWC Jaipur since the department received an official report about the rescue of children from the State on March 12, Chitra said.
The Social Welfare dept would soon depute officials to bring back the rescued children and arrange rehabilitation programme for them, the Director said.
Significantly, the SCPCR Rajasthan and CWC Jaipur have also assured to book the culprits involved in trafficking the children under Juvenile Justice Act, she added.
The Social Welfare Director further confided that a Trafficking Appropriate Enquiry team would soon be set up in the State.
