Fire ravages three shops

Imphal, November 18 2011:
At least three shops of Khabam Lamkhai Panthoibi Haraobung were gutted by an accidental fire last night.
According to information culled from the spot, the fire sparked off from electric circuit inside one of the five wooden shops which were built in row.
The fire ravaged three shops together with the goods stored inside them.
One tyre workshop run by Waikhom Rupa and two rented rooms belonging to Yengkai Haokip and Konjengbam Basanti were also destroyed by the ravaging fire.
Some jewellery items and Rs 10,000 in cash belonging to Basanti were reduced to ashes by the fire.
Rupa lost some machinery and a number of tyres.
All the five shops belong to one Khundom Inaobi of Khabam Lamkhai.
Though it is estimated that properties worth lakhs of have been destroyed, the exact figure has not been calculated yet.
