House gutted at Wangkhei Puja Lampak

A dwelling house was reduced to cinders when an inferno broke out at Wangkhei Puja Lampak this afternoon.
According to information culled from the spot, the devastating fire broke out inside the house of Hanjabam Gokul Sharma at about 2.30 pm.
It is suspected that the fire broke out from an electric emersion heater.
In their efforts to douse the fire, six volunteers sustained injuries and they have been identified Maisnam Ojitkumar (54), Y Sudhir (42), both belonging to Wangkhei Puja Lampak, Moirangthem Kelvin (20) of Kongba Nandeibam Leikai, Hanjabam Debo of Brahmapur Thangapat Hanjabam Leirak, Thokchom Ameshore of Palace Compound and G Momosana (20) of Thangapat.
They sustained injuries when an LPG cylinder exploded in the heat of the raging fire.
The raging fire was brought under control before it could spread to other houses by using four fire tenders.
But Gokul Sharma's house totally devastated.
Though the exact monetary figure has not been calculated, it is estimated that properties worth several lakhs have been destroyed.
