MMWO calls for peace

Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) has sought co-operation from all the people in averting further violence at Nungei.
MMWO president FM Abduah Pathan, in a press meet held at its office at Hatta Minuthong today expressed disappointment with the unfortunate turn of event.
At least two persons were injured when a violent confrontation broke out between two groups of people at Lilong Nungei yesterday.
The MMWO president has also expressed disappointment with the alleged one-sided news reporting adopted by certain media houses regarding the incident.
MMWO team visited Lilong Nungei today to investigate the matter.
According to informations gathered from the spot, one Dinesh from Pishum who has been living with his in-laws at Nungei fired a bullet that hit seven years old Aslam Khan, s/o Ayub Khan, in his head.
Fortunately for Aslam, he only sustained some injury.
Aslam's mother who witnessed the incident, reportedly fainted after seeing blood oozing out from her son's head.
Angry locals came after Dinesh.
They were shot at by people trying to protect Dinesh, Nungei locals said.
The gunshot that were fired yesterday was from Dinesh's gun.
The angry locals resorted to burning down houses and reportedly stabbed three innocent people who were passing the area on an Auto.
Today, three more persons were assaulted by Dinesh's group along with burning down of one Honda Activa.
The trio who sustained injuries in the attack have been admitted at Raj Medicity for treatment.
The trio that were assaulted today are Ziour Rahaman (26), Saha Nawaz (25) and Ramijuddin (26) .
MMWO has condemned the assault on innocent people.
They have appealed to all the concerned to avoid further violence in the area.
MMWO further alleged that the media carried only one-side of yesterday's incident.
Had the media houses reported the full story, further violence could have been avoided, he stated.
ANJUMAN Islahi Muashira Lilong co-ordinator Muhiyuddin was also present at the press meet.
