KEDO boys crack HSLC exam

In a show of grit and commitment, at least two students who have been spending night hours at market sheds looking after the belongings of vendors cleared the High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLCE) 2022 .
The two students - Kharibam Sureshkumar, s/o Kh Shyam from Uchiwa Mayai Leikai (student of Thounaojam Ibobi Memorial English School, Uchiwa) and Longjam Bitankumar, s/o L Joykumar from Sabungkhok Makha Leikai (student of Tongou High School, Yaingangpokpi) are members of Kanglei Economic Development Organization (KEDO) .
Sureshkumar passed the HSLC examination in first division while Bitankumar cleared the same in third division.
Reportedly, Sureshkumar has been tending the wares of vendors at Imoinu Keithel at night and selling papad in his free time while Bitankumar has been taking care of goods of vendors at Lamlong Keithel along with his father at night.
Encouraging the two students for their, KEDO and street vendors felicitated the two students by presenting simple gifts at Khwairamband Keithel today.
At the felicitation ceremony, KEDO secretary general Sur Moirangcha said that the organisation (KEDO), since its establishment, has been showcasing that study and job can go hand in hand if "we are disciplined and set our routine properly." Saying that youth should never take drugs for certain disappointment or due to peer pressure but work hard to achieve their goals, he thanked the vendors at Ima Keithel for always treating the members of KEDO as their own and guiding them in the right direction.
KEDO president Soibam Maniton acknowledged that the mothers of Ima Keithel have been providing a source of income to young members of the organisation from poor families for education and other purposes by giving them odd jobs.
