Cheiraoba greetings

Governor La Ganesan has led in offering his heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Cheiraoba, which falls on April 14 .
In his greetings, the Governor said that the festival represents the change of guards, where the old give way to the new.
He urged the people to strive towards the goal of bringing peace, prosperity and progress in every household of the State.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh also conveyed his wishes and said that Cheiraoba marks the onset of a new year and expresses values of prosperity.
It celebrates and strengthens the bonds of love and brotherhood in the family, he stated.
He called upon the people to work hard with renewed vigour and dedication to take the State towards greater heights of development.
Extending his Cheiraoba greetings to the people, Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly, Th Satyabrata Singh stated that for Hindu Meiteis, Cheiraoba symbolizes the coming of a New Year and is a festival celebrated by every household with great enthusiasm and gaiety.
He encouraged people to offer traditional cuisines to local deities and enjoy hill-climbing at nearby hills.
He also offered special prayers for the good health of the people.
Power Minister Th Biswajit Singh also joined in wishing the people a happy and prosperous Cheiraoba while Education Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh extended his love and prayers for good health for the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of Cheiraoba.
