Imphal, November 11 2014:
All Manipur NGOs Forum (AMNF) has urged the NGOs, which are working in different fields, to submit relevant UC certificates after the completion of their projects.
Speaking at a press conference held at the office of Self Employment Voluntary Association, AMNF president Y Surchand said that the Government had blacklisted 10,000 NGOs including 291 State NGOs, which get foreign funding, due to non-submission of UC certificates of their respective projects.
Urging the NGOs to understand the terms and conditions, Surchand requested the NGOs of the State to submit relevant UC certificates before March 31 next year.
He added that NGOs normally apply for funds and projects from foreign agencies under Society Registration Act, Indian Trust Act, Religious and Charitable Institutions Act and Companies Act after getting registered for three years under the Manipur Societies Registration Act, 1989 .
Most of the NGOs, which have been blacklisted, got funds under Religious and Charitable Institutions Act through Foreign Contribution Registrations Act, he added.
Saying that around 500 NGOs are currently enrolled with the All Manipur NGOs Forum, Surchand said that 291 State NGOs had faced action as these NGOs did not submit UC certificate on time.
He said that these NGOs have given a bad name to other NGOs, which are working in the right manner.
Saying that the Government had acted rightly against these NGOs, Surchand urged the NGOs to submit UC certificate on time.
