Imphal, September 11 2013:
Urging for different demands, members of the All Tribal Disabled Students' Union today made an attempt to storm the Chief Minister's office.
The students marched towards the CM's office from the direction of the Nupi Lan complex this afternoon.
However, the marchers were blocked by police in front of Head Post Office and they were herded together by the road side.
Nonetheless, the protesters chanted a number of slogans.
Talking about their agitation, ATDSU president Momo Tatanga said that one of their primary demands is establishment of a special school with hostels for disabled tribal students.

Another demand decentralization regarding issuance of disability certificates by way authorising district hospitals, CHCs, PHCs and sub-divisional headquarters to issue disability certificates.
ATDSU has also been demanding hike in travel allowance for visually impaired and orthopaedically disabled State employees.
A memorandum has been submitted to the Chief Minister highlighting these demands but there has been no response so far, Momo lamented.
The protesters stayed in front of the Post Office waiting for an appointment with the Chief Minister till 7 pm.
