Distribution of Covid relief items continues

Imphal, June 10 2021:
The impact of the ongoing second wave of COVID-19 in the State is severe and the general public is going through a difficult time due to various precautionary measures imposed by the State to contain the spread of the pandemic.
But many individuals and organisations continue to provide some relief to the masses amid such a grim situation by distributing relief items including edible and essential items across the State.
Imphal East
Continuing its noble initiative of extending help to the people across the State to cope up with the difficult time of the pandemic, All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO) in co-ordination with Imphal East United Clubs Organisation (IEUCO) distributed edible items to around 90 households in Imphal East district today.
The items were distributed to households which were within the jurisdiction of United Ching Tam Clubs Association (UCCAN) and North Eastern United Clubs Organisation (NEUCO), said a press release by AMUCO.
AMUCO further stated that it will continue to distribute edible items to other parts of Imphal East district in association with the local clubs.
It may be noted that the members of IEUCO have been taking up strong initiatives like spraying of Sodium Hypochlorite, organising vaccination programmes, helping the Covid affected patients and have formed Joint Task Force to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic in the district effectively.

Keirao
Under the supervision of Lourembam Rameshwor Meetei, Deputy Chairman of Manipur State Planning Board, the volunteers of Urup Keirao Kiyamgei Muslim Youth Central Development Committee have been distributing relief items extensively in the areas within its jurisdiction.
The distribution programme concluded today and the committee lauded L Rameshwor Meetei for his noble deeds.
Lamlai
Political activist Sapam Kangleipal Meitei donated torch lights and mats to the youths and meira paibis of Takhel Khul in Lamlai who have been working earnestly to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and the drug menace in the area.
The initiative has been taken up by him acknowledging the selfless contributions of the youths and meira paibis to tackle the serious issue of the ongoing pandemic and the issue of drug abuse which pose a serious threat to the society, said a press release by Lamlai Mapari Thougal Lup.
Naoriya Pakhanglakpa
Executive member of BJP Manipur, Soraisam ongbi Kebi extended monetary aid of Rs 50,000 and donated edible items to Community Home Isolation Centre opened at Pitambara English School in Naoriya Pakhanglakpa Assembly Constituency today.
Speaking on the occasion, S Kebi appealed to all the inmates to fight against the COVID-19 strongly and not to get demotivated as all possible measures have been taken up for effective treatment in the Centre from all spheres.
Further she lauded the selfless contributions of the volunteers of the CHIC in the fight against the deadly pandemic.
Patsoi
Social worker RK Rameshor distributed essential items to around 500 households at Moirang Hanuba Leirak in Patsoi Assembly Constituency today in continuation of his initiative of distributing essential and relief items to every household to provide relief during this difficult time.
Saikul and Khundrakpam
Fresh vegetables were distributed to more than 100 households of Utonglok, A Longa Koireng and Maphao Zingsho in Kangpokpi District under Saikul Assembly Constituency, around 30 households of Dolaithabi in Khundrakpam Assembly Constituency today.
The distribution of vegetables was initiated by T Chuongsin Koireng, member of Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) under the supervision of its chairperson Professor Dr Binota Meinam through Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) to help the women in managing the diet of their respective households.
Thongju
In view of the hardships faced by the locals due to COVID-19 pandemic, essential items were distributed to around 100 households in the containment zone at Uchekon Khunou, Uchekon Laikon and Kongba Uchekon Chongabi in Thongju A/C under the aegis of social worker Seram Neken.
Also meals are being provided to Covid patients at various hospitals and inmates at Community Home Isolation Centres in Thongju A/C.S Neken who is also the member of Imphal East Zilla Parishad appealed to the locals to contact helpline number of Food Bank if there is any shortage of food supply in Thongju A/C.Meanwhile pradhan of Thongju Part I Gram Panchayat, Thongbam Lata Devi in association with its ward members distributed essential items to households under the Gram Panchayat.
Ukhrul
Celin Digital and NR Media under its campaign 'Ngamjaba Kharadang' distributed face masks to frontline workers of Ukhrul Police Station, All India Radio Ukhrul and District Hospital Ukhrul today.
