Imphal, April 10 2013:
The proscribed UG group, Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) has appealed to the people of Manipur to offer tributes to the 'patriots' of Manipur who laid down their lives in the ongoing freedom struggle on the occasion of 'Athoubasingi Ningshing Numit' on April 13 and light candles in every household as a mark of respect to the departed souls.
In a statement, issued by its Secretary Publicity Roben Khuman, RPF informed that like every year, the organisation would be paying floral tributes and revolutionary salutes to the brave patriots who sacrifice their lives in the struggle for a free Manipur at their memorial on April 13 and urged the people to join in offering tributes to patriots.
Lamenting over the prevailing situation and feeling among the minds of the people of Manipur, RPF said that it is unfortunate that some people think that they could not survive without the grant and help from Delhi.
It has been more than 60 years since the Delhi bandits have been suppressing the people of Manipur with the sole motive of instilling that feeling of inferior complexity that some people have actually come to think that their very survival depends on the mercy or generosity of the India government.
Today, the India government, besides killing the people of the state in various fake encounters, is now attempting to vitiate the people of the state and make Manipuri society a female-dominated society so that they can easily dominate over and do whatever they like, RPF alleged and added that in such a situation, the only way out from the labyrinth is to unite and revolt against the rule of India government.
On the other hand, it is unfortunate that some so called revolutionary leaders and their followers have surrendered and joined hands with the Indian security forces.
This is a blot on the long history of the revolutionary movement for a sovereign Manipur.
But RPF would never concede to the India government till there is a single drop of blood in the veins of its cadres.
The war of freedom initiated by RPF would never stop till Manipur regains its loss sovereignty, RPF said.
It also appealed to the people of Manipur to refrain from organising any sort of entertainment programme on April 13 to show respect to the departed 'patriots' .
