Imphal, February 10 2017:
Taking serious note of people's objection to the allotment of INC ticket to Khadga Bahadur Tamang, MPCC spokesperson MLA K Ranjit today said that Congress party will never take up any step which is against the interest of the people of Manipur.
Speaking at the felicitation programme organised for new INC members at Congress Bhavan, K Ranjit said that Congress party will not work against the interest of the people and as for the issue of allotment of INC ticket, the party will necessitate finding ways to fulfil the wishes of the people at the earliest.
"Congress party regards the interests of the people of Manipur.
Some organisations have reportedly decided to boycott the election.
It is the earnest appeal of the party to all the organisations concerned not to take up such step that will hinder the democratic process.
As the present situation in the State is fragile, let the people elect and allow the next Government to solve the issue for the betterment of all." Commenting on BJP's alleged indecisive statements on creation of new districts, K Ranjit said, "One day, BJP will say they welcome the creation of new districts.
The next day, they will alleged the State Government of taking political mileage out of it.
Such contradictory statements are ridiculous.
BJP should stop worrying over this matter" .
He added that it is surprising to see some former Congress members who have joined BJP alleging Congress party.
They have BJP for their personal gain.
Therefore, they should think twice before charging the State Government.
