Imphal, April 09 2013:
On the eve of the 'martyrs' memorial day' (April 13), the proscribed RPF/PLA has saluted and paid tributes to all the people who have laid down their lives in the course of the 'liberation movement' .
A statement issued by the outfit's Publicity Secretary Roben Khuman also conveyed solidarity to all the mothers and sisters whose sons and husbands have been killed or maimed for life on account of the alleged repressive measures unleashed by the Indian military.
Reminding the martyrs' principle that it is far better to live as free men even if it is for a few moments than living in bondage for the whole life, the outfit observed that Manipuri people are now living wretched life characterised by begging from India after Manipur was allegedly annexed by India in collaboration with some traitors.
All the indigenous economic institutions which served as the mainstay of the Nation's self reliance have been uprooted.
With the State made dependent on the assistance of India, some people have started asking if Manipur can survive without India's assistance.
After taking hold of Manipur's sovereignty, 'Delhi bandits' have been employing all kinds of sinister ploys and policies for the last 60 years with a view to keep the people of Manipur under permanent suppression.
It is the firm belief of RPF/PLA that the ongoing liberation movement can achieve its goal if each and every people of Manipur work selflessly for the common goal.
Only then, Manipur can be saved from being wiped out and self-rule can be established in independent Manipur.
The alleged drug warfare of the Indian military which is aimed at making Manipur a land of only women needs a serious introspection.
Given such as situation, it is all the more crucial to wage and intensify the liberation movement collectively.
The martyrs who never felt disheartened took the liberation movement to a particular stage but some treacherous and meek pseudo revolutionaries have let down the legitimate movement by surrendering to the adversary forces.
Yet RPF/PLA is as always determined to fight for the national cause till the last breath.
RPF/PLA has defeated the adversary forces in numerous battles and has successfully unmasked many covert strategies of the Indian military.
The outfit appealed to all the people of both the valley and hills to pay fitting tributes to the martyrs at their memorial sites on April 13 and abstain from organising any entertainment or merry-making programmes.
It further appealed to light lamps at the gates of each and every household in the night of April 13 in memory of the martyrs.
