JDDC temporarily suspends economic blockade

Imphal, November 08 2015:
Jiribam District Demand Committee (JDDC) on Sunday announced that it has temporarily suspended the indefinite economic blockade imposed since the midnight of November 6 last along the National Highways which connects Jiribam.
JDCC, in a statement said that the decision to suspend the economic blockade starting from 6 am of November 9 till midnight of November 17 was taken during an executive body meeting held on Sunday.
The committee stated that the decision was arrived at after considering the coming Ningol Chakouba festival.
The statement however warned that JDDC will launch intensified agitations including banning of national projects apart from economic blockades if the State Government fails to declare Jiribam as a full-fledged Revenue District at the earliest.
JDDC also appealed people from all walks of life in the State to support JDDC and its demands.
