Expressing deep concern over the alleged stoic non-action of the appropriate authorities in securing the safe release of Alice Kamei, d/o Punsijao and Sundari Kamei of Chingphu village, Bishnupur District, Manipur from the custody of the RPF/PLA, the Naga Peoples Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR) today urged the RPF/PLA to release Kamei from their custody without any conditions and ensure her safe return to her parents and ensure her academic pursuits.
A statement issued by the Press Liaison of NPMHR reminded that Alice Kamei is just 14 years old and who was undergoing her studies at Grace Reach Academy, Hiyanglam before her "recruitment" by the Revolutionary People's Front/People's Liberation Army (RPF/PLA) .
Urging the RPF/PLA to release Alice from their custody without any conditions the NPMHR also reaffirmed its support to the activities of the Zeliangrong Students Union, Manipur, the Zeliangrong Youth Front, and other organisations working for the safe release of Alice Kamei.
