The Manipur State Panchayat Parishad (MSPP) has highlighted their demands and grievances to many Union Ministers and officials concerned.
Representatives of the MSPP have been camping at Delhi since February 1.
After submitting a memorandum to the MPs elected from Manipur, the MSPP also highlighted their demands and grievances to the National media.
On February 6, the representatives called on Union RD&PR Minister Giriraj Singh and Union Minister of State for Rural Development Jyoti Sadvhi Niranjan and submitted a memorandum.
Acting on the advice of Union RD&PR Minister Giriraj Singh, the MSPP representatives held a meeting with the Director and the Secretary of MGNREGA at Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi.
The MGNREGA Director and the Secretary reportedly assured that the MSPP's demands and grievances would be addressed soon.
The MSPP has been demanding release of MGNREGA pending liabilities for 2021-22 .
Even though the term of the 5th Panchayat expired on October 24, 2022, election to the 6th Panchayat has not been held till date, the MSPP said.
It also decried that the actual devolution of power to Panchayat has not been effected in the State till date.
