The Government has decided to crackdown on all militant groups which have been taking cover under the SoO groups informed Governor Anusuiya Uikey while interacting with representatives of transgender community who called on her at Raj Bhawan today.
The message was conveyed to a delegation of the transgender community under the Maruploi Foundation who submitted a memorandum containing a charter of demands to the Governor.
After meeting the Governor, Bonita, one of the delegates, said the Governor conveyed that the Government was taking up all necessary measures to restore normalcy in Manipur within three days.
Three representatives of the transgender community, including project manager of the foundation Bonita Pebam, Bishesh Huirem and Rava Khangemba, met the Governor and expressed their concern in connection with the present crisis and urged her to take appropriate actions against SoO militants.
Bonita stated that the memorandum, submitted to the Governor, sought immediate action to save lives and control the SoO militants.
The charter of demands includes appeal to protect State's integrity, take action against unlawful armed actors involved in shooting incidents and arson.
It urged the Governor to set priorities to provide relief and rehabilitation to displaced people and appealed to the Central Government to ensure that all security forces, including the Assam Rifles, carry out their duties impartially and fairly, refraining from activities that could escalate the conflict.
Salam Prasanta Singh of Sangai Trust Foundation also called on the Governor for appropriate action against SoO Kuki militants and urged her to invite all stakeholders to the negotiating table to end the crisis, said the Governor's PRO.
He requested the Governor for an action plan for resettlement and rehabilitation of displaced people who have been affected by the conflict.
