RSS opens telemedicine unit at Imphal

As part of its healthcare programme in the region, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Saturday opened a telemedicine unit at Seva Bharati, one of its branches at Nagamapal here.
The Sangh's joint general secretary Dr Krishna Gopal Sharma inaugurated the unit set up by a team of experts from West Bengal and Jharkhand.
Jeevan Abhiram Ningthou, a key organizer of the healthcare programme said that some patients have begun contacting the unit for addressing their health problems.
The Sangh Pariwar also organized free medical camps for three consecutive days beginning Monday at Khangbok in Thoubal district, Nambol in Bishnupur and Nagamapal in Imphal West, said programme coordinator and RSS key functionary Babul Kumar Jha.

Over one thousand patients had benefited in the camps manned by five specialized doctors from Kolkata, Bhopal and Delhi, said Babul, who based in New Delhi.
In the meantime, the RSS is all set to organize Sheetasammmelan with Puram Pujaniya Sarasanghchalak to be addressed by its chief Mohon Bhagawat at the Bheigyachandra Open Air Theatre (BOAT) in Imphal East on Sunday.
Leishemba Sanajaoba, the titular king of Manipur will also attend the programme, Babul said and added that RSS functionaries from different parts of northeast will join it.
The RSS chief arrived here on December 3 and will stay in the state capital for a few more days to hold a series of meetings with the local Sangh Pariwar key members.
