Many endorse MANPAC stand, CAB protests staged at different districts

Bpr/Tbl/Jiri, Oct 3: Endorsing the fresh campaign initiated against Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 by Manipur People Against CAB (MANPAC) under the supervision of North East Forum for Indigenous People (NEFIP), different protest demonstrations were staged in different parts of Bishnupur, today.
The protest demonstrations were staged at Nambol Keithel, Oinam Keithel, Irengbam Mamang Lampak, Keinou Thongkhong, Bishnupur Keithel, Ningthoukhong Keithel, Ningthoukhong Gopinath Leikai, Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School, Loktak Christian, Moirang Keithel, INA Memorial High School, Anita Std High School, Islamic Kid Foundation, Manipur Creative School, Kumbi College, BK Golden Academy School etc by the students, women vendors and the locals of the respective areas.
Later, the protesters formed human chain in their respective areas along Tiddim Road.

During the protest demonstrations, slogans like "We denounce CAB", "No CAB in North East", "Withdraw CAB Unconditionally", "Long Live Manipur" etc.
THOUBAL
Numbers of students, club volunteers and local populace of Thoubal district also supported the firm stand of NEFIP and MANPAC on CAB and formed human chains, apart from raising several slogans to withdraw CAB at the earliest.
Kshetrileikai Women Development Organisation and SECDO Club staged a sit in protest at SECDO ground and raised slogans against CAB while volunteers of Ningol Club Heirok along with the students of the area formed a human chain at Heirok Part-II.
Volunteers of DESAM and numbers of students of Wangjing areas also formed human chain, using placard like "No CAB in Manipur" among other at Wangjing.
Volunteers of All Yairipok United Club Organisation (AYYUCO), students of Memorial Model Academy, Yairipok High School, Yairpok Government High School, meira paibis and women vendors of Yairipok too formed a human chain at Yairipok Keithel.
Students of Brilliant Public School, Samurou, Little Master Higher Secondary, Samurou Govt High School along with volunteers of local clubs and meira paibis also formed a human chain at Samurou Bazar, today.
JIRIBAM
Under the banner "Mass Public Protest Against Citizenship Amendment Bill in North East India", MANPAC, Jiribam and NEFIP organised a sit-in-protest at Congress Bhawan, Jiribam, today.
During the sit-in, which was participated by volunteers and leaders of different CSOs, placards that read "No CAB in North East India", "Withdraw CAB Unconditionally" and "We Oppose CAB" were displayed.
Speaking by the sideline of the demonstration, convenor of MANPAC, Jiribam, Y Romen Singh asserted that the association will support all the initiative taken up by MANPAC and NEFIP against CAB, which threaten the very survival of North East's indigenes.
"If the Government fails to pay heed to the demand and withdraw CAB at the earliest, the people of North East India will launch various several intense agitations", he cautioned.
