HC seeks reply

The High Court of Manipur has sought replies from the State Government regarding the three PILs filed by a private individual against different Government Departments.
A Division Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice RR Prasad and Justice S Serto today served notices to these Departments after hearing the PILs.
The PILs were filed against these Departments by RK Premjit of Keishamthong Longjam Keirak, son of former Chief Minister RK Ranbir.
Petitioner's counsel Rajesh Aggrawal said that Premjit filed PIL No 30 of 2016 against the alleged irregularities in cleansing Phumdis at Loktak lake at an estimated cost of Rs 224 crore against Additional Chief Secretary (Forest and Environment), Department of Finance, Central Vigilance Commission, Loktak Development Authority, M/s Progressive Construction Ltd, Hyderabad and M/s K Pro Private Ltd.
He further said that PIL No 31 of 2016 complained against Manipur Development Society (MDS) Chairman and State Planning Department regarding utilization of Rs 626 crore by the Society from 2007 to 2015 .
Rajesh Aggrawal further said that PIL No 11 of 2016 was filed in connection with the utilization of Rs 101 crore by State Social Welfare Department in the construction of 4468 Anganwadi Centres from 2005 to 2016 .
The Court asked the respondents of PIL No 30 and 31 of 2016 to submit replies by September 9.
On the other hand, the Court directed the Departments concerned to respond within 10 days regarding PIL No 11 of 2016, Rajesh Aggarwal said.
