MoU inked for Imphal-Mandalay flight

Imphal, July 03 2019:
Myanmar private airline KBZ and KB Enterprises today signed an MoU at Yangon on introduction of flight service between Imphal and Mandalay.
The MoU was signed between KBZ's Chief Operating Officer U Kyaw Han and P Kunjabihari of KB Enterprises at the former's Yangon office.
Sources informed that Imphal-Mandalay flight which would take off from Imphal International Airport will fly up to Bangkok after reaching Mandalay.
However introduction of Imphal-Mandalay flight needs approval of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the State Government.
Notably, chartered flights of Golden Myanmar landed at Imphal International Airport a few years back.
Saying that KBZ has been expecting to introduce Imphal-Mandalay flight from October this year, the sources informed that the same initiative is supported by the Indian Consulate General based at Mandalay as well as Indian Embassy based at Yangon.
A high level team of KBZ came to Imphal last month and talked with officials of the Airport Authority of India, Transport Department and India Foundation on the proposed Imphal-Mandalay flight service.
