Ratankumar inspects construction works

Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar today inspected the work progress of the ongoing construction of 14-km road connecting Mayang Imphal and Bishnupur.
The Minister also visited the sites where JTs for the inland waterways are being constructed.
Speaking to reporters, Dr Ratankumar said that 90 per cent of the construction of Mayang Imphal-Bishnupur road has been completed.
And the road would be ready for dedication to the general public once construction of the small bridge at Yangoi is completed, he added.
The Minister further said that tender notice for the construction of 12-km Mayang Imphal-Karang road would be issued soon.
Informing the reporters that construction of terminal building for inland waterways at Mayang Imphal has already been completed, Dr Ratankumar said that similar station for Ningthoukhong is also nearing completion.
The Minister expressed hope that two roads and the proposed inland waterways service would greatly enhance connectivity in the State.
During his inspection tour, the Minister halted at Toubul, Liklai Karong, Ningthoukhong, Thanga and Mayang Imphal Sagai Sabi.
PMGSY Chief Engineer, Transport Secretary, LDA Director and other officials accompanied the Minister.
