The ongoing probe conducted by the Thangjam Manorama Death Inquiry Commission today examined the two doctors who conducted the first post mortem examination on Manorama's body on July 11.Dr Nabachandra, professor Forensic Department, RIMS testified that the vaginal swab of the deceased woman was handed over to the Investigating Officer of Irilbung police station.
When crossed examined by the counsel on behalf of the Assam Rifles, Nabachandra stated that he did not find any foreign particles at the entrance of the bullet wounds.
The nature of the injuries could have been inflicted by a rifle, he said adding that he could not say exactly whether the injuries were made by a single shot or from semi automatic weapons.
The panel also examined a villager of Yaipharok Maring village who claimed that he heard gunshots on July 11 morning, the same day Manorama's body was recovered near the village.
Tomorrow, advocate Ch Narendra will record statements of Khumanlei, the ailing mother of 32 year old Manorama at her Bamon Kampu Mayai Leikai residence.
Narendra was appointed by the Commission to examine the ailing mother.
