Many more condole Isak Swu's demise

The Liangmai Nagas today gathered at the community hall of Tamei HQ at 3 pm to condole the demise of Isak Chisi Swu, Chairman NSCN (IM) under the aegis of Liangmai Naga Council, Manipur (LNC-M) and Liangmai Naga Baptist Association, Manipur (LNBA-M) under the theme "I've fought the good fight, I've finished the race, I've kept the faith" (2 Timothy 4:7).In the programme, former LNC-M president Dithinbou, LNC-M general secretary Enoch Newmai and leaders from various organisations gave speech about the life of the departed leader.
The programme ended with a special prayer for Naga unity and solution led by Rev Dr H Newmai, president LNBA (M).
As a mark of respect and mourning, all business establishment and shops remain closed in Tamei HQ during the condolence service.
As a mark of love and respect for Isak Chishi Swu, all shops and business establishments at Noney Bazar, Nungba Bazar of Tamenglong district were closed for 4 hour (from 12 noon to 4pm).Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has condoled the demise of NSCN (IM) Chairman Isak Chisi Swu.
In a statement, the information and publicity secretary of ZUF A Longmei said that the Nagas have lost one of the most important warrior who stood for the cause of the Nagas rights and freedom.
His demise would create an irreparable vaccum for the Naga family and ZUF condoled and shared the sorrow on the loss of such a great revolutionary leader and prayed for his soul to rest in peace, the statement added.
Maring Marnorap Imphal (MMI) also condoled the sad demise of Isak Chisi Swu and paid due respect to the selfless leader who spent his life working towards bringing a respectable solution for the Nagas.
Naga International Support Center (NISC) expressed shocked over the demise of Isak Chisi Swu.
In the midst of hardships and difficulties, along with many freedom movements, Nagas in their quest to live free from occupation and oppression lost a great and an inspiring leader, said the condolence message of NSIC.
A joint civil society organizations, Senapati conducted a condolence service at Traffic Point, Dhqs in honour of late Isak Chisi Swu and was joined by all ADC Members, civil bodies, tribe Hohos, social workers and general public.
Candle lights were lit in honour of the late leader besides unfurling the Naga flag and mourning songs led by Mom's in Touch group.
Moderated by Joyson Mazamo, NPMHR, SK Peter, Kilonser of NSCN (IM) narrated briefly the life sketch of the late leader.
ADC Chairman ML Markson while giving his condolence message said that late Isak Chisi Swu was a religious man, not a politician and nobody can question his religious life.
Later, a joint condolence message of 18 civil bodies including all district apex bodies and tribe bodies was delivered by Naga People's Organization (NPO) president Moses T Kamba.
Inpui Naga Union and All Inpui Students' Union also condoled the demise of Isak Chisi Swu and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
Maram Union also condoled the demise of Isak Swu.
The condolence message read, "The Nagas have lost a towering leader who was our hope and a dedicated freedom fighter.
We truly acknowledge his long struggle armed with people's faith and divine blessings.
The Maram Union on behalf of the Maram people prays for his good soul to rest in peace." Meanwhile, the Maram Khullen chief K Namba has also condoled the death of NSCN (IM) Chairman Isak Swu.
The demise of Isak Swu has shaken them and left them in grief and pain.
The leadership and vision of the late leader is a blessing to the Nagas that cannot be denied.
The Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO) � the apex body of nine tribes including Anal, Aimol, Chothe, Khoibu, Lamkang, Maring, Monsang, Moyon, Tarao- condoled the demise of Isak Chishi Swu.
"His death is an irreparable loss�yet he left his footprints for the Naga nation," CNPO said in a condolence message.
The CNPO also prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
At the same time, civil society organisations of Chandel organised a mourning programme cum candle light vigil as a mark of respect to Swu at Chandel Japhou bazar yesterday from 6.30 pm.
A total shutdown was also imposed in Chandel district headquarters from 2 pm to 6 pm today to mourn the death of Isak Swu.
Naga flag was unfurled and vehicles stayed off the road during the shutdown period.
