28th National Conference of Indian Association for Social Psychiatry kicks off

The three-day 28th National Conference of Indian Association for Social Psychiatry, NCIASP, 2021 commenced today at RIMS, Imphal.
The function which was held on the theme - "Conflict, culture & social wellness" was graced by Dhanamanjuri University, Imphal Vice Chancellor Professor N Rajmuhon as Chief guest while Indian Association for Social Psychiatry president Professor Pratap Sharan, president (elect) Dr UC Garg, secretary general Varghese Punnoose and Editor Professor Nitik Gupta among others attended as the presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor N Rajmuhon remarked that the theme on which the conference is being held is socially relevant.
Further lauding RK Lenin and the other organizers for organizing such a function on the National Constitution Day, the Vice Chancellor said that the quintessence of the Indian Association for Social Psychiatry lies in studying the nature of mankind and his culture and the prevention and treatment of this disorder.
He added that such endeavour is vital for the advancement of the physical, social, psychological and philosophical aspects of mankind.
Saying that the issues related to health, ethical and social factors in the field of social and community psychiatry has become an important aspect of medical science in the present days, Rajmuhon appreciated that the theme itself is quite relevant to the modern society.
He also said that Indian Association for Social Psychiatry has been supporting continued medical education through its annual National conference.
"The association, which is one of the most active and emergent regional societies of the psychiatric associations in the world, has also been promoting excellence in research, particularly among young scholars through its own activities.
As a result, the association has received the best recognition in the global level", he added.
He also expressed confidence that the outcome of this conference will be important and beneficial among the young scholars and policy makers for social security.
