Imphal, March 24 2020:
Following the detection of a positive case of COVID-19 in the State, Chief Minister N Biren has appealed to all the people to stay put at home.
In a pre-recorded video message sent to press, Biren appealed to all the people to combat COVID-19 collectively by staying at home just as the COVID-19 cases declined dramatically in China after sustained struggle with unity and discipline.
He urged people not to come out to streets to watch curfew.
The Chief Minister further appealed all to be sincere about COVID-19 and also not to conceal any suspected case.
There is nothing to be shameful about even if one is infected by COVID-19, Biren said.
Instead of concealing suspected cases, one should come out voluntarily for necessary tests and go to quarantine centres, if required, he said.
Saying that all the measures taken up by the Government are aimed at saving people's lives, the Chief Minister informed that the State Government has started releasing rice for distribution to NFSA and CMHT card holders free of cost.
