With a view to resolve the impasse over the economic blockade and counter economic blockade, a team of the Goodwill Mission for Peaceful Co-existence (GMPC) would hold a meeting with UNC leaders tomorrow.
Speaking to media persons at MBC conference hall today, GMPC convenor Ningthouja Lancha said that they held a consultative meeting with All Manipur Christian Organisation (AMCO) and Tribal Church Leaders Forum today.
The meeting deliberated on the volatile situation prevailing in Manipur and the rising tension among different communities.
He said that they have already met Chief Minister O Ibobi and placed five points before the State Government as well as the opinions and suggestions made by community leaders during a joint public meeting held at Khwairamband Keithel.
The points laid before the State Government included working out an amicable solution to the issue of economic blockade and counter economic blockade.
GMPC has been hoping that the State Government and the UNC would come to the negotiating table sooner rather than later.
Ningthouja Lancha appealed to both the UNC and the State Government to relax their positions a little and hold dialogue for an amicable solution.
