Imphal, April 23 2011:
With the revival of Huikap Junior High School and subsequent enrolment of around 400 students, schools uniforms were distributed to the students free of cost today.
The school uniforms were distributed by the school's management committee after receiving assistance from Andro AC MLA Th Shyamkumar.
Speaking at the occasion, Shyamkumar said that out of four Junior High Schools located within Andro AC, Poiroukhongjil Jr H/S and Moirangpurel Jr H/S have been upgraded to High Schools.
Even as several measures taken up by the Government of India under Right to Education Act did not reach Andro A/C, Government schools have once again started functioning well due to relentless efforts of the people.
Though there is no building for Poiroukhongjil Govt High School, construction of the school building has already started at the initiative of the school management committee.
Likewise, deficit teachers have been made up by local educated youth who are given certain monthly remuneration.
All these external teachers are trained teacher, the MLA claimed.
He also asked parents to ensure that their children attend classes regularly.
The school uniform distribution function was also attended by Tulihal Zilla Parishad Member Nilkamal.
