58th NPF foundation day commemorated

Youth Wing, Naga People's Front, Manipur State Unit organised a commemoration program of '58th NPF Foundation Day' today at NPF office Tarung, Imphal.
The program was compared by Luikang Lamak, general secretary, Youth Wing NPF/MSU and begun with the invocation from Kakai Touthang, vice president, YW, NPF/MSU.
After which, the message of Awangbow Newmai, president, NPF/MSU and Minister of Forest and Environment & Climate Change and Sericulture, was read out by N Chawangbuibou, general secretary, YW, NPF/MSU.
Through the message, the president appreciated the Youth Wing of NPF/MSU saying that his heart and soul are with the youths.
He expressed that the Naga People's Front has become very important Political Party in the State as well as in the region so as the responsibility of the Youth Wing is compared as hands and foots of the party.
In verbatim, the president exhorted that the strength and future growth of the party lies with the Youths' positive contributions.
The Minister also reminded that NPF was founded by visionary leaders to stand against any turbulence of Naga Nation, thus, he says it is the duty of the present leadership to re-dedicate and carry on their legacy and give the best to the people.
Honreikhui Kashung, general secretary (admin), in his keynote address supplemented to the president's points by briefing the biography of the founder of NPF late Angami Kevichusa (1903-1990) who happened to be the first graduate and first IAS officer among Nagas.
He was also conferred with honorary captain of the British Army, and later appointed as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).
Kevichusa, as per Kashung was a renowned Naga leader of the time and a man of vision, who founded the Naga People's Front in the year 1963, which is the second oldest regional party registered under Election Commission of India (ECI).
He coined the motto "Fide non Armis", means "By faith not by Arms" .
The symbol of the party is also dedicated to him, a crowing rooster, which signifies the arrival of dawn after dusk.
Honreikhui, further asserted that those who embraces NPF shall experience the bright new beginning.
By quoting the party's constitution, the general secretary said NPF is wedded to the principles of democracy and fraternity, more traditionally practised by the Nagas where moral values were held high, and where the deeds were valued more than words.
Honreikhui also exhorted the party cadres to remain steadfast with the objectives of the party, and that is to work and assist in any possible manner by any approach for a peaceful solution to the Indo-Naga political issue.
He said, party members must keep alive the fire of relentless endeavour to stand against any force from further dividing the Nagas and thereby move towards a renaissance of Naga brotherhood.
The program concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Bonny Dilbung, president YW, NPF/MSU and a mass prayer led by Chalinbou Chalunmai, senior member and advisor to NPF 52 A/C Tamei Unit.
The mass prayer was pronounced with focused points on NPF leadership for Central, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Divisional and Area Units, and importantly for the on-going Indo-Naga Political talks.
Also, the Youth Wing NPF/MSU prayerfully remembered Losii Dikho Minister, PHED, Printing & Stationery for his generosity and encouragement to Youth Wing NP/MSU.
