Govt moots PPP model for ITIs

The State Government is now studying the feasibility of running all Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) under public-private partnership model.
In the meantime, Tata Motors has offered to give free training on automobiles and driving at ITI Lilong.

Tata Motors would open a driving course as well as a training course on automobile mechanics free of cost.
Like at ITI Lilong where Tata Motors would open driving and training courses, the State Government is actively considering to allow interested companies open similar courses at other ITIs of the State.
The Government is also studying to run all the 11 ITIs under PPP model.
Incidentally, a Cabinet meeting held a few days back decided to revamp all the ITIs.
Tata Motors has already taken up different projects in Assam and Meghalaya similar to the one it is planning to take up at ITI Lilong, added the source.
