Source: The Sangai Express
Thoubal, July 17 2016:
Incessant rain in the last few days caused a portion of the retaining wall of Sengmai river to collapse at Kakching Wairi today, our correspondent reports.
The retaining wall was built under the funding of Irrigation and Flood Control Department (IFCD) .
About 50 meter length of the wall collapsed at Kakching Wairi today due to the strong currents of Seng- mai river.
The collapse of the retaining wall has disconnected the road leading to Kakching Keithel from Kakching Wairi in addition to damaging portions of Ibudhou Khamlangba temple.
Kakching Wairi locals have urged the MLA concerned to repair the wall at the earliest.
