Children's Day celebrated in districts

Commemorating 130th birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Children Day was celebrated across the districts today with many organising fun activities and helping children at homes.
Bishnupur: In Bishnupur district, the District Legal Services Authority celebrated the day with children at Glory Children Home, Thamnapokpi.
The celebration under the sponsorship of Manipur State Legal Services Authority was attended by Bishnupur District Session Judge, Neihoikim Kipgen, Chief Judicial Magistrate Monalisa Maibam, Chairperson Child Welfare Committee Bishnupur, Pukhrambam Premchand Singh, staff of DLSA Bishnupur, members of different NGOs in the district, staff of Childline Bishnupur Collab and Collective Trust.

Speaking at the event, Neihoikim motivated the children and advised them to work hard to reach their goals.
Monalisa Miabam also shared about the reason for celebrating Children Day.
About 80 children from Children Home, Open Shelter Home, Specialized Adoption Agency � Bishnupur and De-Addiction Centre participated in the programme.
Paonam Thoibi, Clinical Psychologist, The Collective Trust also encouraged the children to do more fun and creative activities like painting.
The DLSA team distributed blankets and stationery items to the children.
Pukhrambam Premchand Singh also donated rice, potatoes, milk, dals, eggs etc to the Glory Children Home Bishnupur.
Thoubal: The District Social Welfare Office (DSWO) Thoubal in association with IRDEO Wangbal celebrated the day at IRDEO Auditorium.
L Radhakanta, Additional District Magistrate, Thoubal, Dr M Rajendra, president, Senior Citizen Forum, Thoubal, A Kameshwar, District Social Welfare Office, Thoubal and Th Bhaghirat, Principal, IRDEO, Wangbal attended the event as presidium members.
At the event, L Radhakanta, Additional District Magistrate, Thoubal encouraged children to take active part in extra-curricular activities and outdoor games and sports.
Children presented various cultural and entertainment programmes at the event.
The Taibang Maheikol Thoubal Wangmataba also celebrated Children's Day at Thoubal Mela Ground community hall.
Founder of the school, W Shyamjai and Headmaster Brojeshori attended the event.
RUDA Academy Thoubal too celebrated the day in the presence of SP Thoubal Dr S Ibomcha and school founder L Sachi.
Observing its foundation day of the Nehru Yuba Kendra Sangathan, District Administration Thoubal in association with DPO, ICDS Cell and NYK, Thoubal celebrated the day at the Counting Hall of DC Thoubal.
Thoubal Zilla Parishad Adhyaksha Hasina Begum, Thoubal district Deputy Commissioner N Bandana, ADC Thoubal L Radhakanta, Addl SP Thoubal Deshorjit attended the event.
Addressing the gathering, N Bandana said that the district administration is working on to submit the data for child sex ratio in Thoubal district to Women and Child Development Ministry quarterly.
ADC Thoubal L Radhakanta express that students nowadays are always engaging in school and tuition.
He encouraged students to develop love for games and sports.
Outstanding sportswomen of Thoubal district were felicitated.
Sports items were distributed to clubs and schools by NYK, Thoubal.
Children of Children Home for Girls, Thoubal Wangmataba and Open Shelter Home for Girls, Wangbal, Thoubal presented many colourful events during the programme.
The District Legal Services Authority Thoubal under the aegis of MSLSA observed the day Eramdam Ningol Sanglen, an open shelter home at Wangbal.
Secretary DLSA Ashem Tarunkumari, Devi, children home secretary Babita, Child Welfare Committee Thoubal Chairperson K Jiten, lawyer Babita Khaidem, Advocates Lembisana and Sarankumari attended the event.
Senapati: The District Social Welfare Office (DSWO), Senapati celebrated the day at Children Compassion Ministry (CCM), Senapati (Orphanage).
Thisho Kriina, Dy Chairman (Medical, Science & Technology), ADC, Senapati and JK Makabo, DSWO, Senapati attended the event.
Outstanding children from the centre were honoured with gifts.
Children performed various events.
The centre has 120 children.
Kakching: The Ideal Pioneers Club of Kakching Ningthou Leikai also celebrated Children's Day at Kakching Ningthou Leikai Mandap today.
The "1st Children Talent Show 2019" organised by the club was attended by Councillor Kakching Municipal Council Moirangthem Ongbi Inakhunbi Devi, former Minister IFCD Thokchom Tomba, retired Principal Naorem Ongbi Sundari Devi, members Ward Development Committee Thokchom Pishak Singh, Th Surjitkumar Singh and president IPC Naorem Jiten Singh as presidium members.
The event was organised to encourage children to inculcate and sharpen their passion and love for activities which may be nurtured as talents, said Vengkat Naorem, secretary of the club.
Children of the locality performed various colourful items and showcased their talents.
