Witnesses depose in different murder case : Lungnila case

In connection the Lungnila Elizabeth kidnapping and murder case, the then Additional SP (Prosecution) Imphal, N Bijoy gave his statement as a prosecution witness before District and Sessions Judge, Manipur West today.
Bijoy was the then Investigating Officer (IO) of the case, which is now handled by CBI.
Altogether 48 prosecution witnesses are listed in the chargesheet framed by CBI on the case.
Two accused persons Th Nando and James Kuki, who are currently lodged at Sajiwa Central Jail, were also produced before the Court during today's trial of the 10-year-old case.
Decomposed body of Lungnila Elizabeth, daughter of the then RD and PR Minister Francis Ngajokpa was recovered from Tera Sadokpam Leikai on November 12, 2003 after the girl was kidnapped from the gate of her school, Little Flower High School on November 4, the same year.
On the other hand, bail plea of Heisnam Premi, who was a co-accused in the case, was rejected by the Court.
Later, the Court fixed August 21 as the next date for hearing of the case.
